Earning Only Enough For A Burger This Month

Low earnings across the board on this platform…so far

Dear Medium, what is going on with the Partner Program? Why are most writers earning chump change this July? A measly seven bucks can barely buy me some takeout; my earnings are so meager that this can’t even afford me a snack pack at my local chicken joint! Somebody explain in layman’s terms why the money is all wonky this month.

I’d say I’ve done well in writing a little more than usual; there are times when I’m in a mental funk and my creative juices dry up a bit. But going into the month of August, all I can say is that I’ve earned pocket lint. I’m not a big name or top writer (though it’ll happen in due time), so I’m still paying my dues as I figure this out.

In the meantime, I will still write whatever stories come to mind, sprung forth from the heart. It’s one of the only things I can do here until everything sorts itself out. Hopefully things will turn around. Consider this month to be like a nasty fart for us writers; one good squeeze and it’ll all pass…even the stench (of low funds, that is).

From my basic apartment in South Central Los Angeles, I will see all of you in the next story.
